CNA Program Objectives

Upon successful completion of the nursing assistant program, the student will be able to:

Identify the roles, functions and responsibilities of the nursing assistant as a member of the health care team. This will be assessed through written examinations.
Utilize the knowledge and skills needed to give safe client care as a beginning nursing assistant in the healthcare facilities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations and written examinations.
Demonstrate an awareness of the dignity and worth of all persons. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations.
Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations.
Recognize the need for continued learning in order to be an effective nursing assistant. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations and written exams
